KEJI BELING

Keji Beling (Strobilanthes crispus) is a plant that has a lot of minerals such as potassium, calcium, sodium and other mineral elements. Besides, there are also silicic acid, tannins, and glycosides.

Keji Beling is plants with the characteristics of having a wet stem and a rough surface leaves. The plant is widely grown and used as hedge. In Mekarsari, this plant can be found in the Family Garden area as a hedge. Keji Beling has many uses such as medicine of dysentery, diarrhea and kidney stones medicine and can also reduced cholesterol level.

Medicinal Application Keji Beling can be used in both traditional and modern ways. Traditionally is by using fresh plant material, simplicia and powder.

  1. The fresh plant material is by using 3 leaves and consumes it as a salad every day.
  2. By boiling the fresh leaves, as much as 25 – 50 grams, with 2 cups of water for 15 minutes. After that filtered then drink the water. Take it twice a day, morning and afternoon.
  3. In the form of simplicia, used 5 - 10 grams and put in 1 cup of boiling water and closed. After several minutes, drink it every morning and afternoon.
  4. In the form of powder, used 5 - 10 grams of powder mixed with boiling water and drink it twice a day.
