Tectona grandis

According to some botanists, teak were from Myanmar and then spread to the peninsula of India, Thailand, the Philippines and Java,

while several other botanists found a teak was a native species in Myanmar, India, Thailand and Laos.

Teak has a main stem continues to grow to a height of over 20 meters. The teak leaf known for its large size and fall during the dry season to reduce evaporation in the leaves.

Teak trees are generally planted tight and lined up because the plant canopy is not wide, and also facilitate the process of "harvesting" teak.

Mekarsari Fruit Garden (TWM) has several collections of teak, but not for the purpose of producing timber. Teak can be found in the area near Wisata Ziarah and SHEA Garden (Biosari Laboratory).
